Here's the print-and-play, finally!

Hi Bad Medicine backer,

I finally have the Bad Medicine print-and-play ready! Thank you for being so patient. This has been an incredibly busy summer for me.

You should get an email from BackerKit soon with download links. There are three files you'll receive:

Bad Medicine 2018 PNP v1.0.zip
Bad Medicine Second Opinion PNP v1.0.zip
Bad Medicine NSFW PNP v1.0

The last file contains all the "adult" cards in the game. For retail, I will split these into a separate expansion. You will get this physical "Unsafe" NSFW expansion automatically if you backed the base game, or if you ordered the replacement base game cards as an add-on.

Note a change to the base game rules - if you're playing with just the base game cards, you play only 3 rounds. If you're playing with Second Opinion, you can go back up to 4. (Of course, with this being a party game, you should play for as long as you'd like!)

Finally, if you'll be at Gen Con next week, we'll be running games of Bad Medicine on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening! Tickets are still available.

Thanks so much for your continued support!

Long-delayed PNP coming soon!

Hi folks! It's been a whirlwind couple of months since the campaign funded, and I've been at two conventions, and prepping for a third next week! (More on that in a moment.)

This is a really quick note to let you know that I'm almost done with the print-and-play, and I hope to get it to you by early next week. At this point, I'm just waiting for rulebook revisions to accomodate changes we've made to the new printing.

I'll be at Dice Tower Con next week, and I'll have the new cards for both Bad Medicine and its expansion. Perhaps we can arrange some late-night games of it! Stop by my booth and let any one of the Formal Ferret staff know if you'd like to join up.

More news coming soon!

New covers coming, and so is the PNP!

Hi Bad Medicine backer! I've been holding a surprise.

I've been working with artist Emily Hancock to create new covers for Bad Medicine and Second Opinion! Here's a draft of the base game cover that she sent.

Note that this is just a draft. There will likely be more pills in the final version.

I hope to have these covers wrapped up in the next couple of weeks! What do you think of the new direction?

Where's the PNP?

It's coming, I promise! I've been drowning in work lately, but I hope to have it in the next couple of weeks. Thank you so much for your patience as I get through my work queue!

More news coming soon...

BackerKit surveys coming in the next couple of days!
about 6 years ago – Wed, Apr 18, 2018 at 10:03:26 PM

Hi Bad Medicine backer!

It's been too long since my last update. Normally I try to be more regular with my updates, but conventions, tax season, and illness have kept me from my regular schedule. Thank you for your patience!

Your BackerKit surveys are on their way. About 30 of you have already received them as a test; the rest of you will get them around Friday or so. That's where you'll send me your address, and you can order add-ons like tokens, replacement decks, and the like from there also.

BackerKit also allows you to update and change your address as many times as you'd like, until the time when I lock surveys just before I ship out your games.

If you order add-ons, or if your pledge was not collected on Kickstarter because of a failed credit card, you will need to enter your credit card information into BackerKit as well. You will not be charged for anything until I lock the surveys.

Note that not all backer levels will have access to all add-ons. For example, if you only pledged for an expansion at the $15 level, you will be able to add-on the cards/chips upgrade pack, but you won't be able to add-on a copy of the base game. If you'd like to add-on a copy of the base game, you may change your pledge level in BackerKit to a pledge level that includes the base game.

So over the next few days, please check for an email from BackerKit. It'll have a link to where you can get started.

Thanks everyone! Looking forward to taking the next steps here.

We did it, folks!

It's been a long road for Bad Medicine, from my very first Kickstarter campaign in 2015 to a failed campaign the following year. But here we are, successfully funded!

Thanks to you, Bad Medicine will go back in print, and will hopefully stay in print for a long time.

Thanks to you, Bad Medicine will come with a cool 90-card expansion. That's right; we are close enough to the $20k stretch goal that I will count it!

Thanks to you, my tiny game company takes another big step.

So, what's next?

I use a pledge manager called BackerKit to handle a lot of the post-campaign work. So a lot of stuff will move from Kickstarter to BackerKit at this point.

For example, I will open surveys soon; you'll get those from BackerKit, not Kickstarter. I know it's an extra step, but you will be able to add extra copies of the game to your order and change your address as many times as you'd like. It really does help me a ton on my end, so it's extremely useful.

If you pledged at $75 or more, I will be in touch later today about what exactly I need from you for your contributions.

If your friends missed the campaign, I will open pre-orders soon on BackerKit. Pre-order customers will have to pay more in shipping than Kickstarter backers; that's one of the benefits of being a backer here!

If you're a retailer who pledged at any amount, you'll be able to order add-ons through BackerKit in a few weeks, once I have case quantities finalized.

You will have print-and-play files for both the base game and expansion before the end of April.

I think that's all the news for now. I'll post another update once surveys and pre-orders are open.

Thank you again for all your help!
